We provide a family friendly environment that will provide you and your child with an individualized evaluation and treatment plan to meet your family concerns and goals.
- Inpatient Services: Following surgery, injury, or disease, therapy services may be necessary to promote an improvement of function (i.e. walking, self-care activities, speech or swallowing). With a physicians order, therapists will evaluate a patients needs and establish a plan of care for their hospital stay. Family participation is encouraged.
- Outpatient Services: Therapy services are often needed for patients after discharge from a hospital or with a new injury or disease. Our therapists have special training in orthopedics and musculoskeletal disorders, arthritis and postural problems, amputees, ergonomics and industrial injuries, stroke and other neurological problems, wound care, hand injuries, and speech and swallowing problems.
- Physical Therapy is geared towards working with patients in helping meet their goals in wound care, pediatrics and sports injuries. Physical Therapists provide treatment to improve functional mobility, decrease pain, improve range of motion and to return to prior level of function in work, sports or home.
- Occupational Therapy promotes the highest level of independence for each patient by addressing areas such as basic activities of living, visual perceptual skills, fine motor skills and upper extremity strength. Occupational Therapists provide rehabilitation for patients with spinal injuries, orthopedic problems, neurological injuries and hand injuries.
- Hand Therapy is a specialized field providing care to the patient with an upper extremity injury. The hand therapist works as a partner with the hand surgeon or physician to achieve optimal results. Hand therapists are skilled in the rehabilitation of such conditions as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, overuse injuries, fractures, crush injuries, amputations, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, burns as well as elbow or shoulder injuries.
- Speech Pathology services are provided to the pediatric and adult population to facilitate the development or restoration of communication, cognition, voice, speech/language skills and swallowing.
- Specialty Programs offered by the Rehabilitation services Department at Coral Springs Medical Center include pediatric sensory integration rehabilitation, sports medicine rehab, wound management, orthopedic rehabilitation, swallowing disorders, osteoporosis program and neurological rehabilitation.
Each treatment plan begins with an assessment by a licensed therapist to understand the patient's health history, functional abilities and expectations. An individualized treatment program is set up to achieve the patient's goals. Progress is assessed continuously and treatment modifications are made based on those findings. In addition, the rehabilitation staff teaches patients and families how to promote independent living, prevent re-injury and encourage wellness.
Appointments are available from 7:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition to convenient parking, the center offers an area that is easy to access for patient drop off and pick up.
